The Countdown Has Begun: Opening Ceremony to be Webcast Live.
(December 6, 2010) With the grand opening ceremony of Karmapa 900 just hours away, the countdown has begun on the webcast clock at www.kagyumonlam.tv Transmitting live from Bodhgaya, India, the webcast will bring the first Karmapa 900 event of the year to those Karma Kagyu disciples, supporters and well-wishers who are unable to attend in person.
Viewers around the world can tune in for three hours of pageantry, music and dramatic performances, and special addresses to the assembly by His Holiness the Seventeenth Karmapa and His Eminence Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche. The prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile, Samdhong Rinpoche, will also speak as chief guest. More than 5,000 guests are expected to attend directly, with others around the world viewing online.
